In a stroke, a blockage in a blood vessel stops essential oxygen and vitamins from accomplishing the brain. One summer day in 2021, 56-year-old Edaferierhi Bolaji felt something pop in his neck after his routine afternoon stroll.
"It was something so strong I couldn't talk for a couple of minutes," recalls the Nigerian resident. But that too passed, and he got back his speech.
